ArtempireMJ reports the world through its artists. A border, a currency, a generation finding its voice, reported through the maker who carries the story. It also keeps the Global Art Calendar of open calls, residencies, grants, fairs, and biennials worldwide, free for artists and verified before they are listed.
Is the Global Art Calendar free for artists?
Yes. The calendar is free and never gatekept. Opportunity-givers, fairs, and partners fund it, never the artists. Charging an artist for the news that an opportunity exists is the one thing we will not do.
How do I submit my work?
Send a few images and a paragraph about the work at artempiremj.com/submit. Any medium counts: paint, photograph, sculpture, music, ink, writing, design, craft. It costs nothing, wherever you live, and we read every one. If it is right for us, we write back.
Are the opportunities real and verified?
Yes. Every date is confirmed before an opportunity is listed, so you can trust what you act on. The calendar is refreshed weekly.
What does ArtempireMJ cover?
World events and culture, told through the artists who live inside them, globally, with Africa and the Global South as first-class. Reporting comes through named on-the-ground correspondents.
Can I plan a trip around the calendar?
Yes. Art Itineraries gathers the fairs and biennials worth crossing the world for, by city, with the dates early enough to book before the rooms fill.
