Last September, at a fair in Johannesburg, fifteen African countries hung the same three words over their booths: Own history now. They spent the week proving the line in paint and photographs, a continent insisting its record is its own to keep. We were on the floor, and we keep the open-call calendar those same artists read on Monday morning.
Who it serves
Artists first. Emerging, mid-career, maker-adjacent. The calendar, the features, and the radar are theirs, mostly free. The soul of the place is the artists in it and the readers who come for them.
